Devarsh
From No Understanding to Confident Communication: Devarsh’s Transformation
Devarsh, an 11-year-old child with severe to profound hearing loss since birth, underwent cochlear implantation in the right ear (2017) and left ear (2018). However, despite implantation, he struggled with listening, could not follow commands, and had minimal speech. He joined Suniye in 2022 at the age of 7 years, where a structured, intensive auditory-verbal and speech therapy program was initiated.
With consistent therapy at Suniye and guided parental involvement, Devarsh showed remarkable improvement. Today, he can follow commands, describe pictures, narrate stories, and express himself confidently. Now studying in Class 4, he is able to communicate meaningfully and participate effectively in daily life—demonstrating the powerful impact of specialized rehabilitation at Suniye.

Karan
From Medical Challenge to Meaningful Progress: Karan’s Journey
Karan Bhardwaj, a 5-year-old child, was diagnosed with a brain tumor and developed severe to profound hearing loss in one ear. Following brain surgery, he continues to undergo chemotherapy and medical management. During this critical phase, Karan joined Suniye on 7th March 2025 and was promptly enrolled in a structured auditory-verbal and speech-language intervention program, along with appropriate hearing aid amplification.
Despite ongoing medical treatment, Karan has shown encouraging and measurable progress with Suniye’s specialized rehabilitation approach. His auditory awareness is improving, he is beginning to respond to sounds more consistently, and early speech development has been initiated. This progress reflects not only his resilience but also the importance of early, intensive, and well-guided intervention provided by Suniye, even in medically complex cases.

Md Anjoom
From Limited Understanding to Confident Communication: Anjoom’s Journey
Md. Anjoom, a 9-year-old child with severe to profound hearing loss, has a cochlear implant in one ear and has been associated with Suniye since 2024. When he joined, his listening and speech abilities were significantly limited—he struggled to understand spoken language and had difficulty expressing himself clearly.
With Suniye’s structured auditory-verbal therapy, individualized speech-language intervention, and consistent rehabilitation approach, Anjoom has shown remarkable progress within a short span of time. Today, he is able to understand conversations better, follow instructions, and express himself more clearly. His growing confidence and communication skills reflect the effectiveness of focused post-implant rehabilitation at Suniye.

Nandani
From Silence to Speech: Nandani’s Remarkable 2-Year Transformation
Nandani joined Suniye at the age of 3 years with severe to profound hearing loss. At that stage, she had minimal response to sound and no functional speech. Suniye immediately initiated a structured early intervention program, including hearing aid support, auditory training, and intensive speech therapy.
With Suniye’s expert guidance and individualized therapy approach, Nandani developed essential listening and pre-speech skills, preparing her for cochlear implantation. Following her cochlear implant surgery, her post-implant habilitation at Suniye played a crucial role in accelerating her progress.
Within just two years of consistent therapy at Suniye—supported by active parental involvement at home—Nandani has shown remarkable transformation. Today, at 5 years of age, she understands speech effectively and is able to express herself confidently through verbal communication.

Siya
From Limited Words to Confident Expression: Siya’s Transformation
Siya Rawat, a 13-year-old child with bilateral severe hearing loss, has been associated with Suniye since June 2021. When she joined at the age of 8, she had very limited understanding, minimal vocabulary, and was unable to form sentences or express her thoughts clearly. She was using hearing aids in both ears but lacked functional communication skills.
With Suniye’s structured auditory training, speech-language therapy, and continuous rehabilitation, Siya showed remarkable progress over the years. Today, she is able to understand conversations, speak in sentences, share her thoughts, and actively participate in her class (currently in Grade 9). She can express her needs independently and communicate effectively in daily life—reflecting the strong impact of consistent intervention at Suniye.

Alumni
Vijay Krishnamani
- Mr. Vijay Krishnamani who has profound hearing loss in both ears did his B.Com and MCA. He also did his Post Graduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from the University of Texas at Austin, USA.
- After working in organisations like Nucleus Software, Virtusa, Infosys BPO, Citibank Singapore and Tata Consultancy Services Singapore, he now Leads Data & Analytics at Yoda Tech.
- He was awarded the National Award for the Best Employee from the Government of India in 2008 and the Infosys Excellence Award for Diversity in 2007.
- He is a Committee Member of Suniye & a co-founder of DEOC – Diversity and Equal Opportunity Centre – an inclusive social enterprise to promote equal opportunity and inclusion. He also co-authored a book “A Values Route to Business Success: The Why and How of Employing Persons with Disability”.
Cheenu Madan
- Mr. Cheenu Madan who has profound hearing loss in both ears completed his BE in Computers from the Delhi College of Engineering (now called Delhi Technological University). Thereafter, he did his MS from the University of Florida, USA and worked as a Financial Software Developer in Bloomberg, New York, USA.
- He founded Clinchpad – a deal focused CRM that enables you to close deals faster.
Rajat Verma
- Did his B.Com and simultaneously completed a Software Engineering course in NIIT on a scholarship of 25000 INR. He then joined Nucleus Software Exports Ltd., Noida, as a Trainee Software Engineer.
- Now he is a partner at Aeka’s Coffee and manages Finance, Data Management & Operations for it’s 3 outlets in Pune. He also runs a business of handcrafted products and home decor along with his wife Moumita.
Purvi Gupta
- Purvi who has profound hearing loss in both ears obtained 94 per cent marks in her 12th Board Exams.
- She completed her BSc. Computer Science the University of Texas at Dallas, USA after which she worked in Trend Micro as Associate DevOps Platform Engineer.
- She is currently pursuing her Masters of Science in Business Analytics & AI from University of Texas at Dallas, USA. While studying in school, she is working as Graduate Student Assistant – Admission Review at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Prateek Asnani
- Prateek who has profound hearing loss in both ears, did his BE in Mechanical Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Dwarka, Delhi. He then did his MBA from the University of Delhi. Post that, he went on to work as a Business Analyst for an emerging start-up.
- He is now working as an Assistant Audit Officer (Commercial) at Comptroller And Auditor General of India, Government of India, Bengaluru.
Kuriakose P Joseph
- Did B.Com (Hons) from the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi and a Post Graduate Course in Graphic Designing at Pearl Academy, Naraina, New Delhi.
- At present he manages the family business.
